What is the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARPC)?

The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARPC) has its roots all the way back into the 1500’s, traced to the preaching of John Knox in Scotland when the Scottish Church became the official church of Scotland.  In the 1700’s two groups disassociated from the Church of Scotland over controversies, calling themselves the Associates and the Reformed.  In Philadelphia, 1782, these two groups formally unified, forming the Associate Reformed Synod which eventually was renamed the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

The ARPC remains a conservative body; holding a high-view of Scripture and theologically embracing the truths of God as recovered by the Protestant reformers and interpreted in the Westminster Confession of Faith.  Having never splintered into other denominations, this thread of unity is a defining distinctive of the ARPC.
